Recently, I made the mistake of browsing some of the Pentax Forums and it got me thinking that I needed some new camera gear - Even though I have 3 DSLR camera bodies and 13 lenses. It's an illness photographers get, named GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome
Sure, a new body might have some nice new features, a lens might have weather sealing to reduce risk in wet weather, but will this really improve anything. Maybe. Some features are really tempting.
But I also know that the 'joy' and 'excitement' of a new lens wears off pretty quickly. Sometimes that thing I had to have , I didn't have to have at all.
Anyway, right now I have it out of my mind..... until the next time I'm in a position where that lens could come in handy. Although, things like this meme, well.... this is society's message to us.

That is just as if a man were hungry, and to satisfy his craving stomach, he held open his mouth to take in the wind and then should think that the reason why he is not satisfied is because he has not got enough of the wind. No, the reason is because wind is not suitable to a craving stomach. Yet there is really the same madness in the world. The wind will as soon satisfy a craving stomach ready to starve as all the comforts in the world can satisfy a soul who knows what true happiness means. Do you find your heart satisfied with suitable happiness? No, it is not here, but you think it is because you lack such and such things. It is not because you have not got enough of it, but because it is not the thing that is appropriate to the immortal soul that God has given you.
