Matt & I are out to see Shakespeare's Richard III in Stratford tonight, with Colm Feore in the title role.
This is our first time in the new Tom Patterson theatre, an amazing facility.
An unexpected surprise - partway through act 5, scene 3, about 10 minutes before the end, the house lights come up, and the fire alarm sounds.
The building was vacated, fire department arrived to clear the building. About 30 minutes later the building was cleared and the play resumed..
Regardless of the interruption, we had a great time, enjoyed great theatre, and a fine meal (The Duke of Wellington, Kitchener).
I really need to read Shakespeare's plays before I see them, it really helps to understand what is going on.
Spoiler alert!! King Richard III was not very nice.
